The Santa Ana Unified School District’s School Board is conducting a public hearing on Tuesday, August 27, at 6 pm, at their regularly scheduled board meeting, to consider a Charter Petition for the Magnolia Science Academy – Santa Ana, which is also referred to as the Pacific Technology School in Costa Mesa.
If you check out their “About Us” page on their website you will find it to be rather innocuous. However there is ample evidence that there is more to these folks than they are letting on to. In fact they were rejected when they tried to open a charter school in North Virginia, earlier this year.
Magnolia Science Academy is a chain of publicly-funded charter schools in California run by MERF (Magnolia Education and Research Foundation), which was formerly Dialog Cultural, Scientific and Educational Foundation (often abbreviated as “Dialog Foundation”) in Reseda, California. Continue reading
