(Santa Ana, CA) – Santa Ana Unified School District celebrates a record-breaking number of graduates receiving their Seal of Biliteracy when they receive their high school diplomas during graduation ceremonies to be held Tuesday, June 13 – Thursday, June 16, 2016. This year, 1, 013 students will be recognized for being fluent in at least one or more languages and English, an increase of 124 students from last year. Proficiency in the Spanish language was the most popular language followed by French.
The Seal of Biliteracy is particularly valuable in a competitive job market as employers seek applicants who can communicate in more than one language. “These students are biliterate so not only can they speak two or more world languages, they can also read and write it,” said Nuria Solis, Director of English Language Development. Each year, the number of students graduating with the Seal increases in the district. “We are extremely proud of their accomplishments, and we look forward to breaking the record next year.”

Santa Ana schools need to be investigated for abuse of school funds and tax payer money.
i hate it when the Santa Ana school district makes a big deal over something stupid!!! really a job is going to pay you more for speaking a second language. i do not think so!!!
In addition – the school books for all of Santa Ana schools are all old and torn up. How can the parents of all of Santa Ana allow this to go on when the superintendent makes over 200K
“Last year, James Hammond, the superintendent of the Montclair-Ontario Unified School District in the Inland Empire, was paid $492,077. Jonathan Eagan, the principal of a junior high school in the Bay Area city of Martinez made $279,669.”
Above is just an example of how our kids in California are gettin screwed over by how much these folks make in the school districts.
