A female driver and her male passenger led police on a wild chase as they drove a stolen vehicle through Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Tustin, eventually ending in Irvine this afternoon when the couple were arrested, according to the O.C. Register.

The police pursuit began in Garden Grove and the SAPD took over at around 3:20 p.m. when the stolen vehicle entered Santa Ana’s city limits.

When the police ran the license plate of the stolen 2004 Toyota Camry they found it was registered out of Santa Ana.

The stolen car’s driver side-swiped a vehicle at around 17th Street and Grand Avenue in Santa Ana, then continued on 17th into Tustin, according to the SAPD.

The driver and passenger were finally caught and arrested at around 4 pm at the Orange County Great Park. They were found to have outstanding warrants at the time of their arrest. The police booked them on charges of grand theft auto, possession of stolen property and felony evading.

The couple was pursued by two SAPD police officers and one of their supervisors, who followed the pursuit in a vehicle. Air support was also involved.
