SAPD Advisory: Victim of Auto vs. Pedestrian collision – 10/13/13 dies from her injuries today. 68 year old woman identified

On Friday, 10/11/13, Petra Perez Jimenez – sixty-eight year old female (Santa Ana ) was struck by a vehicle while pushing a shopping cart through the intersection of Grant Street and Standard Avenue.

The female was transported to Western Medical Center for treatment. The motorist who was driving a Toyota Camry northbound Standard, subsequently struck the pedestrian at the intersection of Grant Street remained at the scene.

Today 10/15/13 The Coroner’s Office contacted the Santa Ana Police Department and advised that the pedestrian Petra Perez Jimenez died from her injuries.

  1. This is so sad. Visibility isn’t the best at Standard & Grant plus cars zoom by at high speeds in large clusters.

    We contacted the City’s rep at traffic planning last year to express our concern about blind spots, parking issues & the need to curb speeds at this intersection but these problems were never remedied. Now someone has died.

    How can we activate the Eastside neighborhood association? It’s been dormant for too long.
