Mayor Joins Garden Grove Councilman Kris Beard In Supporting Solorio’s Candidacy For 34th State Senate District

GARDEN GROVE – State Senate Candidate Jose Solorio announced today that Garden Grove Mayor Bruce Broadwater and Councilman Kris Beard have endorsed his campaign for Senate.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jose Solorio on a wide variety of important policy issues over the last 15 years,” said Garden Grove Mayor Bruce Broadwater.” I have found him to be an independent minded, commonsense and pragmatic leader who isn’t afraid to buck the political establishment and do the right thing. I enthusiastically support him for State Senate.”

Solorio presently represents the residents of Garden Grove as President of the Rancho Santiago Community College District Board of Trustees and previously served as the city’s representative in the California State Assembly for six years.

Jose Solorio’s campaign for the 34th State Senate District in central and western Orange County and Long Beach has been endorsed by a broad coalition of local community leaders, business leaders, city councilmembers, school board members, community college board members, and other elected officials, including U.S. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.

Jose Solorio is the President of the Board of Trustees for the Rancho Santiago Community College District, which oversees Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College, and represents 700,000 residents in the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Irvine, Orange, Santa Ana, Tustin, and Villa Park. Prior to that, he represented the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove and Santa Ana in the State Assembly for six years. He holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Irvine and a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University.
