A Costa Mesa police officer was attacked and bitten by a suspect on Saturday night, at around 11 p.m., at The Lynn House, an addiction recovery home for women in the 2700 block of Cibola Avenue, according to the O.C. Register.

Police officers arrived at the recovery home to look into an alleged attack by a female on a staffer, with a fire poker.

Police at the scene found a 25-year-old woman named Kristen Scali, from Massachusetts, who appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant narcotic.

Fortunately no one was injured by the suspect and the staff took away the fire poker from her.

However the suspect continued to fight and then she kicked and bit a police officer. He was able to pull his hand out of her mouth without injury as her teeth did not break his skin.

The suspect continued her attack but the police officers were eventually able to take her to Hoag Hospital, for medical evaluation. She ended up being arrested on suspicion of assault with deadly weapon and resisting a police officer. She is now at the Orange County Jail in lieu of $25K bail and is set to appear in court tomorrow.

She was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
